Sherif El Diwany

Sherif El Diwany is a Co-founder and Managing Director of MGM Climate Business Developers as of July 2022; Chairman of Green Option for Electric Mobility and a member of the Advisory Board of Moharram & Partners as of September 2023. Since his return to Egypt from Switzerland in 2015, El Diwany has been engaged in private-public dialogue on a host of business environment reforms and advancing green transformation of the private sector in Egypt. 

He is an Egyptian-Swiss executive and entrepreneur with 35 years of global experience in public-private initiatives structuring, business development and Middle East regional economic agenda shaping, as well as green transformation of economic activities. El Diwany founded his first business at the age of 29 and grew it to become the second largest management consultancy in Egypt for 17 years. 

In Geneva, Switzerland he was Senior Director for the Middle East & North Africa at the World Economic Forum in charge of shaping the Forum’s MENA Regional agenda, engaging leaders from government, business and other stakeholders across the region. As Senior Vice President for Business Development at Cotecna, he led the repositioning and re-design of the value proposition and product offering in Customs Administration modernization.

In 2009, El Diwany was named by Arab Business Magazine as one of 50 most influential Arabs. He has published policy papers on enabling export-driven private sector wealth creation, the future of labor markets in Egypt , the future of education in the Arab world and evolution of Customs Administration in emerging markets.

El Diwany holds a Business Strategy diploma, INSEAD, France, 2007; and a Leadership and Purpose diploma, INSEAD, France, 2008; MA. in development planning, University of Houston, USA, 1981; a BSc in architecture, Cairo University, Egypt, 1978.
