Mariam Kamel

Mariam Kamel is an investment professional with 15+ years experience working across a wide range of the capital markets spectrum, from publicly listed companies, to legacy family businesses, to her current and more active role, advising and investing in early-stage tech startups. Mariam began her career in Investment Banking advising mid- and large-cap companies in connection with corporate restructuring, equity- and debt-financing, mergers and acquisitions, and equity capital markets transactions, in the form of capital increases through private placements and Initial Public Offerings. She then provided Investor Relations advisory services for a number of publicly-listed companies and family conglomerates, with a particular focus on supporting companies in developing their Investor Relations divisions, preparing for IPO roadshows, working closely with clients’ chief financial officers and finance teams in institutionalizing many of the reporting mechanisms, investment decisions, and business development divisions.

Mariam also co-founded FLOW, a family health and wellness center, whose operations spanned across multiple locations.

Currently, she leads and manages AUC Angels, the first university-based angel investor network in the MENA region, supporting Egypt’s innovative early stage startups with high growth potential secure seed funding. Mariam is also an active angel investor, with investments across Egypt and sub-saharan Africa. Mariam holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Concordia University and a Masters in Public Policy and Administration from the American University in Cairo.
